Courses for Adults (16+)

- from October to June 
- classes twice a week, two lessons per class
- a minimum of 120 lessons
- 5 to 12 students in a group
As with our teenagers’ courses, our courses for adults base their methodology on a practical communicative approach. Lessons are geared towards real world communication, whilst also ensuring that at the same time the skills of writing, reading and listening along with a deepening understanding of grammar rules are developed. The aim of our teaching programmes is to provide a methodical, efficient and effective means of developing our students’ language knowledge, and as a result, achieving an enhanced level of communicative proficiency.

At the end of each academic year, all students receive a certificate and an individual teacher’s report evaluating the student’s progress throughout the year; additional suggestions are also made for areas of future development in the language.

The level system at IH guarantees continuity of study through consecutive levels.

General English courses are run at IH initially at five consecutive levels. This means that starting at level 1, a student can progress through to level 5. On successful completion of level 5, and subject to a teacher’s recommendation, then students can continue their education at  exam levels . We offer exam preparation courses at FCE, CAE and CPE levels. For those who need English at work we also offer courses in Business English, called English for Professionals. ‘One to one’ and conversation classes are also available. IH students can also take advantage of a comprehensive range of  extra curricular activities   to complement the classroom based programmes described above.
