Examination courses
For over 10 years we have been preparing students for examinations organised by UCLES - University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, which are acknowledged all over the world:
- FCE (First Certificate in English)
- CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)
- CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
Exam courses include grammar issues and vocabulary, systematically develop writing and listening skills. They also put emphasis on the ability of speaking in English. Besides, great importance is attached to learning the techniques of taking an exam: doing the tests, becoming familiar with audio materials, getting to know the rules of writing essays, practising the coherence of the verbal statement with the set task. It guarantees fluency in all fields tested during an exam, as well as enables you to get to know the manner in which the exam itself is conducted.
The efficiency of examination courses conducted by IH is supported by a high pass rate in the exams themselves.
We offer an opportunity to choose a mode of the course between a standard one (the study lasts 9 months, classes take place twice a week) or an intensive one (3-month course, with classes being held 3 times a week).
All classes are held by experienced and expert teachers (mainly English-speaking), among whom there are also UCLES examiners. It is of great importance, as it gives students the opportunity to obtain practical information about each exam paper, as well as tips on the requirements set for them during taking an exam.
In 2004 one of our schools – International House in Bielsko-Biała – was granted a status of the British Council Registration Point, with the right to conduct examinations, and since 2006 the school has been the British Council Examination Centre and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations Authorised Centre.
